Electricity by Terry RayELECTRICITY

“…a new comedy / drama that explores the journey of two gay men who hook up in a motel room after their tenth high school reunion in a small town in Ohio. Gary is so closeted that he hides behind an invented a wife, and Brad is so reckless that he kills his pain with sex, drugs and alcohol because he can’t see far enough into the future to believe he has one. Despite their differences, they have a connection that they can’t ignore which draws them back to that same hotel room, and to each other, for every successive reunion. The story chronicles their journey through the immense changes that happened for the LGBT community between 1983 and 2013, from a world where silence equaled death, to one where equality might just be a reality if they can only believe that they deserve it. Electricity is a gay story that is surprisingly relatable to anyone who has struggled with relationships.”

Springloaded-Fringe 2017SPRINGLOADED🚀

“…In Springloaded, a woman finds herself untethered and unhappy within the fast passing years. Out of good ideas, she turns to face her younger selves, expecting she can easily restore her lost faith and belief in herself by revisiting the simpler, happier times of the past. What could possibly go wrong? She dives in with her heart and eyes wide open, reflecting back with stories and original songs, and along the way she finds what’s been hidden only a step away…her whole, authentic undiscovered self. Springloaded is a musical meditation on lost years, forgotten dreams, delinquent DNA…and discovery.”

Keith Huff - A Steady Rain
A STEADY RAIN

“Joey and Denny are Chicago cops and lifelong friends. After being passed over for detective promotions the third time in a row, it’s obvious that Denny’s aversion to following protocol, Joey’s drinking problem, and dual formal reprimands from the department are stonewalling their careers. When a domestic disturbance call takes a twisted turn, a severe lapse in judgement begins to unravel their trust and loyalty.

“Told entirely by the two characters, this story rips, seamlessly, between individual recounting and live action.  It’s increasingly apparent, however, that the two sides of their story don’t add up.”

Chris Wollman - Sacred BeastsTHE SACRED BEASTS

“In his Fringe debut, Chris Wollman’s poignant comedy highlights the dynamic and drama-fueled friendship between Ernest Hemingway and Orson Welles that spanned the decades.”

“In The Sacred Beasts, the booze and resentment-soaked real life friendship of Ernest Hemingway and Orson Welles is conjured in three scenes spanning three decades with the besotted wordsmiths played by different actors in each stage of their lives.”

“In my research, I found a number of interesting parallels between the two men, both personally and professionally,” says author Wollman, “and thought their stories and friendship would be an interesting way to address a number  of issues we’re experiencing today regarding the prevalence of toxic masculinity and pride, amongst other things. Plus, I just thought it would be funny.”

Cherise Pascual -Herpes-A Love StoryHERPES: A LOVE STORY.

Herpes: A Love Story is a multimedia extravaganza that features voice overs, musical parodies, audience interaction and at least one dance fueled by clouds of “cocaine.” It’s a unique survival story that confronts a subject that’s relatable to anyone who is, has been, or might be sexually active…but plays out in a loud, energetic cavalcade of sex, self-discovery and inspiration. Think The Vagina Monologues meets Point Break Live. Though somewhat raunchy and, at times, “raw as hell,” it respects the boundaries of good taste while helping to educate as well as remove some of the stigma that goes along with this particular disease. In the end, this festive and bold solo show preaches self-love and responsibility and respect to yourself and others. According to Pascual, ‘I make herpes fun.’

“After her first time at age 14, Cherise Pascual was addicted to sex. At age 32, she was diagnosed as an Asymptomatic Carrier for herpes. Despite it being a non-fatal disease stemming from nothing more than the folly of youth, the shame, depression, negative self-image and other ramifications of contracting herpes nearly killed her. Her journey through living with the disease, and the addictions, psychological trauma and self-loathing that came with it, is a story that needs to be told…in Cherry’s own…ahem…special way.”

Heather Keller - Chemo BarbieCHEMO BARBIE

“Chemo Barbie is an inspiring story told with painful honesty, comedic charm and tear-jerking dignity that takes you into the mind of a cancer patient from diagnosis to treatment. Keller shows what a patient goes through from doctor meetings, testing, treatments and people’s reactions around them. It shows the strength and support that develops with some friends and family while others shy away or leave altogether. Crafted from Heather’s hand-written journals, videos, texts, emails, storytelling and an online chronicling of her experience, Chemo Barbie is a show spoken and performed from the heart that tells the gritty, funny, heartbreaking and uplifting journey of a young woman conquering cancer while living life as normal as possible.”

“When I was diagnosed, I had insane decisions to make, difficult things to choose,” Keller said. “I survived and I’m trying to do something positive from a negative. I’ve had many people come up to me after performing pieces from this show and they feel connection to the story whether it’s cancer or another tragedy that hit their family.”
